AIMS GHANA hosted a workshop on : Introduction to Genomics Big Data Sciences (GBDS)’

AIMS Ghana organised ‘Introduction to Genomics Big Data Sciences (GBDS)’ workshop at its campus in Biriwa, Central Region, from 10 – 14 July 2017. The GBDS workshop was under the leadership of Dr. Gaston K. Mazandu, Research Chair at AIMS Ghana & AIMS South Africa.

Thirty-four participants made up of Nine females and Twenty-five males from Eight African Countries participated in the workshop.

The five days workshop was facilitated by Dr Gaston K. Mazandu, (Research Chair at AIMS Ghana & AIMS South Africa) and Dr. Emile R. Chimusa (Department of Integrative Biomedical Sciences, University of Cape Town). They were assisted by Ms. Ephifania Geza, a PhD student at University of Cape Town under the supervision of Dr Mazandu and Dr Chimusa.

Participants at the end of the workshop were pleased to be able to achieve the objective of estimating parameters for Big Data Sets.
