Modelling of rainfall amount and correlation with occurred damages in March – April – May seasonal rainfall

3. Project Description:

This project will conduct analysis of the collected rainfall data at various time steps by Meteo Rwanda that are quality controlled, compare them with the occurred extremes and damages that were recorded by the Ministry of Emergency Management, Produce various statistical comparisons and other key computations recommended by the World Meteorological Organisation (WOM), This information and resulting reports will be the property of Meteo Rwanda and will be published after official validation.

4. Expected Outcomes:

This project is expected to inform Meteo Rwanda on the correlation of the collected rainfall data and the occurrences of extremes and damages; the results will enhance the understanding of users to relate weather information and the losses that extreme weather events cause. The project will be based on in further studies.
