AI reducing basis risk in smallholder crop index insurance

Project Description:
The agCelerantTM digital smallholder value chain orchestration platform implements innovative approaches to agricultural risk management, such as the BRISKTM (Basis risk Reduction Instrument and Support Knowledge). BRISKTM aims to assist insurers in the design and deployment of innovative financial protection products for smallholder farmers and cooperatives. This internship will develop tools combining parametric and non-parametric components with compliance monitoring to strengthen product marketability and portfolio design, contributing to NADiRA and to the CASCAID 2.0 (CCAFS) project.

Expected outcome :

Digital tools simultaneously improve the financial protection of agricultural smallholders and the profitability of insurers serving them.
