Mimi Kalinda is the director of communications for the AIMS Network. She oversees a strategic approach to communication, working closely with colleagues, funding partners and external audiences to ensure communication supports the vision and mission of AIMS. She is also responsible for working with colleagues across the network to strengthen the AIMS brand, and oversees marketing, content and public affairs.
Prior to joining AIMS, Mimi served as director – Africa for FleishmanHillard. She also worked for Weber Shandwick, where she led pan-African business development efforts and managed social impact accounts, including the Innovation Prize for Africa and the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation. Mimi worked to raise the visibility of Samsung’s CSR initiatives during the 2013 African Cup of Nations and led content creation for the African Union’s CAADP framework and Nigeria’s Ministry of Agriculture.
From 2003 to 2006, Mimi worked in New York City as a content producer and filmmaker with director Spike Lee. She was the first African woman to host a show on MTV Europe in 2000.
Mimi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in media studies from New York University.
