As Director of Monitoring & Evaluation for AIMS, Karen is responsible for providing strategic oversight and direction on all monitoring, evaluation, and learning across the network. Karen brings over 15 years of experience in monitoring & evaluation, program management, and strategic policy development in international development from the Canadian International Development Agency, UK Department for International Development, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and the International Institute for Sustainable Development and has worked across Africa, Canada, Europe, and the South Pacific. Karen holds a Master’s in Geography and Bachelor of Environmental Science from the University of Guelph, Canada. Her passion for advancing education in Africa stems from her involvement as Co-Chair of the Canada Mathare Education Trust – a volunteer-run organisation that provides secondary school scholarships to youth from the Mathare slum in Nairobi, Kenya.
