Real-time error detection in IoT networks
- Host Institution:
ICRISAT | agCelerant-Senegal, Dakar, Senegal - Supervisors :
Pierre C. Sibiry Traore | Steven Ndung’u | Cedric Champenois - Project Description:
Affordable IoT rain gauges prototyped under NADiRA aim to provide live rainfall data from farmer fields at low cost. Budget and technical constraints will limit the reliability of individual point measurements, but higher network density is expected to compensate for that weakness. This internship will develop workflows that alert about inconsistent data and probable IoT device malfunctioning, contributing to the CASCAID (CCAFS) and HEURISTICS (Habitus) projects. - Expected outcome:
Affordable, trustworthy, locally valid weather data generated from field networks helps reduce exposure to climatic risks in smallholder value chains.
