AI reducing basis risk in smallholder crop insurance

  3. Project Description:
    In the agCelerantTM digital smallholder value chain orchestration platform, the BRISK service module can assist insurers in the design and deployment of innovative financial protection products for smallholders. This internship will develop tools combining parametric and non-parametric approaches to insurance product design, contributing to the CASCAID (CCAFS) and HEURISTICS (Habitus) projects.
  4. Expected outcome:
    Digital tools simultaneously improve the financial protection of agricultural smallholders and the profitability of insurers serving them.
