10th Policy Dialogue Forum of the Task Force on Teachers in Lomé, Togo

Dr Barrie Barnard represented AIMSSEC, the teacher training component of AIMS South Africa, as laureate of the UNESCO-Hamdan Prize (edition 2011-2012) for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers in developing countries within marginalised or disadvantaged communities.

Dr Barnard was invited by the UNESCO International Task Force on Teachers to attend the Annual Meeting and the 10th Policy Dialogue Forum of the Task Force on Teachers in Lomé the capital of Togo from18 to 21 September 2017. The 10th Policy Dialogue Forum focused on the topic “Teaching: a Profession”, a core concept in the provisions of teachers in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Education 2030 Agenda.
