Assistant Director, Evaluation and Program Performance
Daniel is the Assistant Director, Evaluation and Program Performance at AIMS. Reporting to the Director, Monitoring & Evaluation at the AIMS Secretariat, Daniel’s overall responsibility is to provide leadership on all evaluations at various stages in the projects’ cycle (baseline, midterm and end term) undertaken across the network, both external and internal, and implement a robust data collection and reporting system to capture, synthesize and disseminate the impact of AIMS. He oversees the implementation of a comprehensive framework for continuous learning and improvement across the network.
Daniel is a Kenyan with over 15 years’ experience in monitoring, evaluation and research. Before joining AIMS in February 2013, he worked with the Kenyan Red Cross Society and the Kenya Medical Research Institute, where he was responsible for the design and implementation of an integrated planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning system for projects, with the aim of facilitating decision-making, promoting accountability, and strengthening results-oriented management. Daniel holds a first class honors in Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) and a Master’s of Arts (Sociology) both from Moi University in Kenya. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Development Studies (Program Evaluation) at The Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology in Kenya. In his spare time, Daniel is a mentor to a number of young people and also enjoys physical activities including jogging and attending the gym. He is a co-founder of a non-profit that supports orphans and widows in Kenya.
