AI optimization of water distribution systems design and operations planning (2 seats)

Host institution: ICRISAT / UtilitY85-Senegal, Dakar

Supervisors: Daniel Annerose / Cedric Champenois / Pierre C. Sibiry Traore

Project Description:
Water distribution networks (WDN) are key to sustainable water supply. They are also extremely complex assets. Designing and operating efficient WDNs is a large-scale combinatorial, non-linear, multi-objective optimization problem. This internship will leverage the UtilitY85TM digital WDN management platform with AI and machine learning to improve the deployment and operations of water distribution in rural and urban Africa, thus helping mitigate the impact of rapid population growth and climate change on one of the most recognizable services contributing to quality of life.

Expected outcome:

AI and machine learning help EO, IoT and mobile2web platforms optimize sustainable water access through structured utilities.

Applications for this internship should be submitted via the online application system, stating clearly the title of the internship.

Deadline for applications: January 20th, 2020 – 11:59 PM (EAT).
